Document drafting service

Drafting professional and academic documents

Businesses, professional bodies and academic institutions need a range of publications to explain their work or services, and how these benefit customers, stakeholders or the public. They also need documents to set out current or proposed policies.

Our professional writer Rachel Beckett will draft brochures and corporate literature, briefings, white papers and consultation documents.

Formal professional publications need to be written to an exceptionally high standard, by someone with great professional judgement. In many cases, the professional writer may need to undertake research, and she must possess excellent drafting and professional writing skills. Rachel always aims to score highly on these criteria, bearing in mind her mission
to offer a consistently excellent professional writing service.

Document drafting example: Education for Sustainable Development guidance

Desk with guidance on education for sustainable development.

Working for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), in conjunction with the Higher Education Academy (HEA), Rachel was the professional writer appointed to draft a consultation document for new guidance on education for sustainable development. Working for a steering group, she collated the key points, then drafted the document to be published for consulation. Following the consultation process, this professional synopsis was then revised and edited before becoming the formal guidance document on education for sustainable development applicable to UK higher education providers.

Clear English, authoritative content and a professional tone were imperatives for this project, and the document that Rachel drafted succeeded well against these criteria.
